Tucson extended their lead in the top of the second inning, scoring two more runs on singles by Edgar Lugo and Samar Leyva that drove in Jesús Fabela and River Town, respectively, making it 4-0 at the start of the game.

It wasn’t until the fifth inning that Guasave shook off the visitors’ dominance, and with a sacrifice fly by Leo Heras, Angel Erro scored Guasave’s first run.

A solo home run by Orlando Piña off Edwin Valle in the bottom of the eighth brought Guasave within one run at 4-2, but in the ninth, Tucson’s pitching couldn’t hold onto the lead, and they allowed three runs to turn the game around, leaving Tucson defeated on the field.

Charlie Hasty took the loss, while Yosshel Hurtado earned the win.
