(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s soccer players Meredith Galus (Walden Grove HS) and Brooke Valencia (Sabino HS) received national awards from the NJCAA on Tuesday as the Division II All-Americans were released.
Galus, a sophomore defender, was named Second Team NJCAA Division II All-American. She was selected First Team All-ACCAC/All-Region I, Division II for her play in the regular season. She took home ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Oct. 19-25.
Galus transferred from the University of South Dakota and made an impact in her only season with the Aztecs. She played and started in 21 games in the backfield with one goal and assist. She helped the Aztecs secure eight shutout wins. Pima gave up 20 goals this season (0.96 average).
Valencia, a sophomore goalkeeper, was selected Third Team NJCAA Division II All-American. She earned First Team All-ACCAC/All-Region I, Division II recognition. She was named ACCAC Division II Goalkeeper of the Week for the week of Sept. 7-13. Valencia played a total of 23 games with 18 starts with 94 saves and a 0.83 goals against average in 1636:06 minutes logged.
Valencia appeared in 13 games; making 11 starts during the 2025 season. She logged 967:01 minutes with a team-leading 58 saves. She produced a .866 saves percentage and a 0.84 goals against average with five shutouts.
The Aztecs have produced 10 NJCAA All-Americans since 2014. Galus and Valencia join Ariela Sanchez-Hermosillo (2024), Solaris Graves (2024), Angelina Amparano (2022), Bri Gerhart (2022), Delaney Buntin (2022), Mari Acosta (2021), Devyn Hunley (2015) and Shannon Shields (2014).
The Aztecs finished 14-2-5 overall and went undefeated in ACCAC conference play at 11-0-3. They also went undefeated at the West Campus Aztec Field posting a record of 8-0-3 this season.
