Mason Hunt drops team-high 25 points as Men’s Basketball beats Justice University JV

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s basketball team (8-0) was back at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium on Saturday for an afternoon contest against Justice University JV.

The No. 8 ranked Aztecs defeated the Lions 146-61. The Aztecs led 65-22 at halftime and outscored them 81-39 in the second half.

 

Sophomore Mason Hunt (Bradshaw Mountain HS) scored a team-high 25 points as he also posted four rebounds and two blocks.

Sophomore Isaac Johnson finished 8 for 11 from the field and added 22 points. He included a double-double as he collected 10 rebounds, and also had three steals.

The Pima bench scored a total of 75 points. They were led by freshman Gerron Graham (Premier Prep Academy), who finished with 19 points as he went a perfect 7 for 7 from the field, 1 for 1 from beyond the arc and 4 for 4 from the foul line. He also had nine steals, five assists and three rebounds.

Sophomore Brock Mendoza closed out the game with 18 points to go with eight rebounds and five blocks while sophomore Ky Green (Liberty HS) added 16 points on 8 for 9 shooting.

Freshman Will Feagles (Notre Dame Prep) and Taevean Famutimi-Brown each scored 13 points. Freshman Isaiah Hill (Premier Prep Academy) contributed with eight points, eight steals and eight assists.

Pima will play their next three games as part of ACCAC conference play before the winter break. They will head to Phoenix on Wednesday for a matchup at South Mountain Community College. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
