Tucson Baseball Falls in a Thrilling 12-Inning Duel Against the Yaquis

(Ciudad Obregon, Son)  In a heart-pounding game, the Tucson Baseball Team fell 7-6 to the Yaquis de Obregon in the twelfth inning.

T-Town came out swinging in the first inning, as Samar Leyva hit a solo home run, followed by a miscue from the local second baseman that allowed Jose Carlos Ureña to score. An RBI single from Missael Rivera brought in Gaige Howard, putting Tucson up 3-0.

The Yaquis answered right away in the first chapter, with Allen Cordoba scoring on a grounder to second and Riley Unroe crossing home on a balk. In the second episode, a hit by Cordoba drove in Zoilo Almonte, tying the game at 3-3.

Tucson regained the lead in the fourth inning, with a double from River Town driving in a run, followed by a single from Samar Leyva that brought him home, making it 5-3.

In the sixth frame, the Yaquis tied it up again with Kevin Villavicencio scoring and an aggressive steal of home by Allen Córdoba in a double steal with Sebastian Elizalde.

In the tenth inning, T-Town went ahead on a fly ball by Jose Carlos Ureña, driving in Jesus Fabela for a 6-5 lead, but the Yaquis responded immediately with a sacrifice by Allen Cordoba, sending Alfredo Hurtado home.

Finally, in the twelfth chapter, Allen Cordoba singled to drive in Braulio Cavero, securing a 7- 6 win for Obregon.

Efrain Contreras earned the win for the Yaquis, while Alberto Leyva took the loss for Tucson.
