(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s soccer player Samantha Mendez (Tucson Magnet HS) was a key component to the team’s success during the week of Sept. 14-20.
Mendez, a sophomore midfielder, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week.
Mendez scored two goals and had five assists for the week. She scored two goals, along with four assists in Pima’s 7-1 win over Glendale Community College and assisted sophomore Ashley Martinez’s (Sunnyside HS) goal in Pima’s 5-0 win over Paradise Valley Community College.
She has played and started in all eight games with five goals and seven assists.
The No. 9 ranked Aztecs earned a 2-2 tie at No. 7 Scottsdale Community College on Tuesday and will be back at the West Campus Aztec Field on Saturday when they host Mesa Community College.
