(Lexington, KY) Following a strong year in the classroom, Sun Devil Volleyball has earned a 2025 AVCA Team Academic Award, sponsored by ITENT.
Teams that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale earn the award from the AVCA. Arizona State had a 3.65 cumulative GPA in the 2024-25 academic year.
Under head coach JJ Van Niel, ASU has earned this award every year. The team has earned other academic awards for this past season. Graduate Argentina Ung was named a CSC Academic All-American. She also was all-district, along with graduates Claire Jeter and Mary Shroll. On the 2024 Fall Academic All-Big 12 Team, seven from the volleyball team earned a spot.
The 2025 season begins in just over a month on August 29 at Northern Iowa. The first preview for the fans will be at the Maroon and Gold Scrimmage on August 22 in Desert Financial Arena.
