Nathaniel Curtiss takes third place in High Jump to secure fourth NJCAA All-American honor at NJCAA Outdoor Nationals

(Hutchinson, KS)  The Pima Community College men’s track & field team closed out the second day of competition at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships on Friday.

The No. 7 ranked Aztecs scored 11 points on the day but dropped two spots in the team standings to sixth place with a total of 21 points after two days of competition.

Sophomore Nathaniel Curtiss (Rincon/University HS) finished in third place in the High Jump with a mark of 2.07 meters (6-feet, 9.50-inches) on his first attempt, earning six points for the Aztecs. Curtiss became a four-time NJCAA All-American (two in Indoors and two in Outdoors). He closed out his Pima career at No. 2 in Pima Outdoor school history with a personal-best mark of 2.16 meters (7-1).

Freshman Cedric Cade earned sixth place and All-American recognition in the Decathlon with a Pima personal-best total of 6,155 points. He secured three points.

Freshman Vernon Price closed out the High Jump in seventh place after he earned a Pima personal-best with a mark of 2.02 meters (6-7.50) on his first attempt. He gained two team point for Pima.

Other Pima finishes in day two of the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships:

Malachi Keller (Tombstone HS) – 14th place in Decathlon 5,031 points.

The Aztecs will close out the 2025 Track & Field season on Saturday in the final day of competition at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships. Events begin at 10:00 a.m. (CT); 8:00 a.m. Tucson time.
