(Fort Worth, TX) With a long storm delay pushing back start times, No. 2 seed Sun Devil Beach Volleyball opened its 2025 Big 12 Tournament run with a rivalry win over No. 3 seed Arizona (3-0) before falling to No. 1 seed TCU (3-0) on Friday.
Arizona State will play No. 4 seed Utah on Friday at 10 a.m. CDT/8 a.m. MST. The winner of that dual will face TCU in the finals at 1 p.m. CDT/11 a.m. MST. All duals at the Big 12 Tournament will be on ESPN+.
Arizona State (21-13) has matched the program record for wins in a season, tying with the 2024 and 2019 seasons. A win in the morning would set a new team record for single-season team wins.
The win over Arizona was ASU’s third of the season in as many matchups. The Sun Devils remain undefeated against unranked opponents this season and in two seasons under head coach Kristen Glattfelder.
Game One: No. 12 ASU 3, Arizona
Due to weather delays, the wave schedule was adjusted and this dual saw courts one, three and five all start consecutively. The Sun Devils took care of business, sweeping the Wildcats (18-11) on all three courts.

The script was flipped for the dual against TCU (27-5), as ASU dropped the first three matches to fall 3-0 in the dual. The closest set was on court two where McElroy and Williamson lost the first set 24-22.
