(Irving, TX)  Currently on a nine-match winning streak, redshirt-junior Ava Kirunchyk and sophomore Ava Williamson are this week’s Big 12 Pair of the Week, the third of the season for No. 12 Sun Devil Beach Volleyball.

Three is the most weekly awards in a single season in Arizona State history. For Williamson, this is her second of the season (she also won earlier this season with Daniella Kensinger) and the third conference weekly award of her career. For Kirunchyk, this is her first pair of the week nod.

Playing at the No. 2 spot in all nine of their matches, Kirunchyk and Williamson have not lost a match since being paired together on March 26. They have won nine in a row, which is tied for the second most by a pair in team history. For individual winning streaks, it is tied for fourth. They went 4-0 over the weekend, including a win over the No. 2 pair from No. 1 TCU. Williamson now holds an 18-8 record this season, and Kirunchyk is sitting at 17-7. The 18 wins from Williamson are tied for the team best.

Arizona State went 3-1 over the weekend at the Spring Wildcat Challenge and de facto Big 12 Invitational, picking up wins over Pepperdine, Arizona, and Utah. ASU lost a close one to No. 1 TCU, 3-2. This weekend, the Sand Devils have three chances against top-five teams. At the Center of Effort Challenge, they will play No. 1 TCU, No. 2 UCLA and No. 4 LMU, all of which are rematches.
