(Tempe, AZ)  Sun Devil Lacrosse (8-6, 1-1) fell just short in today’s contest against Colorado (6-5, 2-0), 14-13. Despite the loss, Teagan Ng found the back of the net five times, marking her fourth straight game with five goals and surpassed the 50 mark this season. She’s just the second Sun Devil to have a 50-goal season and the first to do so since 2022.

Sunday marked the highest-attended game in program history, with a crowd of 679 fans. It was also the fourth game decided by one goal this season for ASU and 15th all-time, as the Sun Devils dropped to 7-8 in one-goal games.

How it Happened

Colorado got off to a quick start, finding the back of the net in back-to-back possessions to take  a 2-0 lead. Teagan Ng paved her way through the Buffalo defense and snuck it past the goalie to get the Sun Devils on the board. Colorado responded back and notched three goals, extending the Sun Devils deficit by four scores. Addie Shevitz got the Sun Devils back on track, sneaking one in the top corner, followed by a free-position goal from Jordyn Behar. Kendal Morris was able to sneak one in to bring it within one, until Colorado was able to find the back of the net at the end of the quarter. The Sun Devils headed into the second quarter down 7-5.

Anna Thornton opened up the second quarter with a quick goal, bringing the Sun Devils deficit to one. The Buffaloes started to run away with the lead, until Jordyn Behar was able to find the back of the net to create some momentum for the Sun Devils. Arizona State headed into halftime trailing 11-7.

The Sun Devils came out strong in the second half, with Teagan Ng picking up her third goal for a hat trick on the day. Lydia Oldknow found her rhythm in the third, finding the back of the net for a pair. With time dwindling down, Addie Shevitz snuck one in to bring Arizona State’s deficit to within two, trailing 13-11.

Teagan Ng continued to slice and dice in the circle and found the back of the net for another pair of goals, notching her fifth on the day. The Sun Devils were not able to tie things up in the end, ultimately losing 14-13.
