(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (10-7-3) secured its eighth straight season with 10 wins or more as it closed out the regular season on Saturday at Kino North Grandstand.
The Aztecs scored two second half goals to down Glendale Community College 2-0. The Aztecs won three of their final four games.
Freshman Yesenia Dominguez (Tucson HS) had a goal and an assist. She found sophomore Perla Blanco (Sunnyside HS) on a cross pass in the 47th minute to put the Aztecs on the scoreboard. Dominguez scored her goal in the 59th minute with the assist from freshman Alysa Canez (Canyon del Oro HS).
Freshman Haven Chambers (Walden Grove HS) had one save for the game.
The Aztecs finished the regular season with nine shutouts (eight wins, one tie).
The Aztecs will be the No. 5 seed for the NJCAA Region I, Division I Tournament and will play at No. 4 Scottsdale Community College in Monday’s quarterfinal match. Game time is set for 2:00 p.m.
