Talia Martin’s .737 batting average earns ACCAC Player of the Week award

(Tucson, AZ). Pima Community College softball player Talia Martin (Mountain View HS) produced a stellar week at the plate in six games during the week of Mar. 2-8.

  • Martin, a sophomore outfielder, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week as the Aztecs went 6-0 with doubleheader wins over Mesa Community College, Miles Community College and Glendale Community College. They scored a total of 78 runs.
  • Martin batted .737 (14 for 19) with 15 runs, 11 RBIs, six walks, four steals, four doubles, two home runs and one triple.
  • Martin is batting .398 from the lead-off spot with 36 runs, 33 hits, 28 walks, 22 RBIs, 10 doubles, eight stolen bases and three homers in 28 games so far this season.

The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Field on Friday for a non-conference doubleheader against Heartland Community College. The first game starts at 10:00 a.m.
