After getting off to one of the best starts in program history, Arizona has gone 0-2-2 in their last four games, that puts them at 8-4-2 going into the game against the Washington Huskies.
During this stretch Arizona has been outscored 8-4, including being shut-out twice on the road in L.A. against USC and UCLA.
Even though Arizona hasn’t been sharp in their last four games they still find themselves in good position head down the stretch of PAC-12 play.
Unlike Saturday against California, tongiht was perfect weather to play PAC-12 soccer against the Washington Huskies. Both teams started off the game in somewhat of a stalemate trying to find any rhythm or footing in the game. The first real threat for any team came in the 21st minute when Washington gave Arizona a scare with a shot on goal, but Arizona goal Lainey Burdett came up huge the save.
The Wildcats got their opportunities later in the period in the 38th and 39th minute, but could not cash in. Like, most of the period the match was back and forth with very little separation between the two teams. Going into the locker-room Arizona found themselves in a dog fight with the Huskies tied 0-0 at the half.

Arizona continued to waste key scoring opportunities in the second half to put themselves up on the board. The game started to have that feeling as if Arizona was going to end another game in a tie.
The Wildcats defense stood strong not allowing many shot opportunities for the Washington throughout the night. The Huskies would finished the game with ten shots on goal to Arizona’s fifteen.
Arizona went into overtime again, making it the 4th straight home game to go into extra time. Washington was able to put a little pressure on Arizona’s defense, but the Wildcats stood strong and sent the Huskies away from Tucson with a loss .
Arizona finally broke the tie in the 103rd minute with a much-needed win. The Cats, scored on junior defender Brynn Moga first career goal giving them a 1-0 victory over the Huskies.
Moga spoke about her goal, “I just remember going and Iliana put the ball over giving us a chance and I just put my head through it.”
With the victory Thursday night Arizona moves to 9-4-2 with a tough match up against Washington State next. The Cougars have been ranked as high as 7th nationally this season. The game will be the Wildcats final regular season home game.
