(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College Women’s Track & Field team competed at the NJCAA Indoor National Championships on Friday and Saturday at the Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, TX.
- The No. 8 ranked Aztecs finished 10th in the final standings with a total of 21.5 points.
- Sophomore Maylee Thompson (Willcox HS) earned NJCAA Indoor All-American status in two events. She finished fifth in the Pentathlon with 3239 points earning four team points, a new PR and is now second in Pima Indoor history. She also took eighth place in the Long Jump at 5.62 meters (18-feet, 5.25-inches). Freshman Hannah Droeg (Casteel HS) tied for eighth place in the Pentathlon with 2979 points earning 0.5 points.
- Sophomore Ja’Niya Ross (Desert Vista HS) tied for second place in the High Jump and earned seven points after finishing with a mark of 1.62 meters (5-feet, 3.75-inches) on her first attempt. Sophomore Izzy Green (McClintock HS) also earned All-American honors in the High Jump with three points. She took sixth place at 1.62 meters (5-3.75) on her second attempt.
- Sophomore Morgan Pepe (Ironwood Ridge HS) was awarded third place in the Pole Vault with a vault of 3.75 meters (12-feet, 3.5-inches) on her first attempt. She gained six team points.

- April Necaise – Tied for 9th place in High Jump (1.57 meters, 5-1.75)
- Women’s Distance Medley Relay (Ella Allred, J’Layah Spellman-Collins, Linda Rivero, Reatta Danhof) – 9thplace (12:44.34)
- Morgan Mosley – 10th place in Weight throw (14.87 meters, 48-9.50)
- Alyssa Perez, Ella Allred, Linda Rivero, Reatta Danhof – 11th place in 4×800 relay (9:57.44)
- Reatta Danhof – 13th place in 1,000 meters (3:03.94)
- Layla Konski – 13th place in Pentathlon 2660 points; 22nd in Long Jump 5.10 meters (16-8.75)
- Linda Rivero – 16th place in 1,000 meters (3:04.60)
- Ella Allred – 28th place in 1,000 meters (3:10.30)
The Aztecs will open the Outdoor Season on Mar. 21-22 as part of the Willie Williams Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona. It will be held at the Roy P. Drachman Stadium.
