(Tempe, AZ) No. 4/17 Sun Devil Swim and Dive ended the regular season with two victories against rival Arizona on Saturday. It marked the eighth straight win over the Wildcats on the men’s side, while for the women it was the fourth time in six years they have defeated their in-state rival.

The team celebrated 20 seniors who have left their mark on the program from setting program records to helping the Sun Devils win their first national title.
Women: Iza Adame, Charli Brown, Hana Edwards, Emma Gatzke, Emma Gehlert, Diver Ashlyn Kirsch, Erin Milligan, Elli Straume, Caroline Bentz and Mary Brinker.
Men: Tiago Behar, Dylan Gravely, Chris Harig, Daniel Matheson, Christian Osterndorf, Patrick Sammon, Jackson Stallworth, Jack Wadsworth, Jonathon Adam and team manager James Don.
The team will prepare for the postseason with Big 12 Swim and Dive Championships taking place from February 25th through March 1st. The men’s team is vying to win their third straight conference championship, they have won the last two Pac-12 titles. For the women, they are attempting to win their first conference championship in team history.
Event-By-Event Breakdown:
200 Medley Relay
The Sun Devil women’s team kicked off the meet by taking first and third in the 200-medley relay. The ‘A’ team of Miriam Sheehan, Iza Adame, Julia Ullmann and Caroline Bentz placed first with a time of 1:36.36. The ‘B’ team of Payden Rafferty, Ginger McMahon, Hannah Hurleman and Indigo Armon finished in third with a time of 1:39.03.
The men’s squad took the top two spots. Lucien Vergnes, Andy Dobrzanski, Ilya Kharun and Jonny Kulowseized first place with a time of 1:21.88. Jack Wadsworth, Oscar Bilbao, Filip Senc-Samardzic and Tommy Palmer followed with a time of 1:24.38.
1000 Free
The women’s squad swept the 1000 free. Deniz Ertan, Alexa Reyna and Katherine Randall took the top three spots respectively. Ertan finished with a time of 9:41.64, Reyna followed with a time of 9:48.55 and Randall completed the trio with a time of 10:02.21.
The men’s team swept the podium with Reece Grady, Jacob Pins and Dylan Gravely taking first, second and third respectively. Grady completed the event with a time of 8:56.65, Pins followed with a time of 8:57.35 and Gravely rounded out the top three with a time of 9:07.35.
200 Free
Erin Milligan and Grace Lindberg took the top two spots on the women’s side. Milligan finished with a time of 1:46.76 and Lindberg followed with a time of 1:47.48.
On the men’s side, Patrick Sammon and Tiago Behar placed first and second respectively. Sammon finished with a time of 1:32.92 and Behar followed with a time of 1:33.73.
100 Back
Miriam Sheehan and Payden Rafferty placed second and third place for the women’s team. Sheehan finished with a time of 53.20 and Rafferty finished in 54.04.
Jack Wadsworth, Jono Adam and Quinlan Gould swept the top three positions for the men’s team. Wadsworth finished with a time of 46.07. Adam and Gould closely followed with times of 47.17 and 47.58.
100 Breast
On the women’s side, Iza Adame captured first place with a time of 59.95 and Zoe Summar took third with a time of 1:00.82.
The men swept the podium with Andy Dobrzanski, Lucien Vergnes and Oscar Bilbao taking the top three spots. Dobrzanski finished with a time of 52.18 and Vergnes and Bilbao followed with times of 52.63 and 53.46.
200 Fly
The women swept the 200 fly as Sonia Vaishnani, Deniz Ertan and Lia Csulak took the top three positions. Vaishnani finished with a time of 1:57.67 and Ertan and Csulak followed with times of 1:57.73 and 2:01.05.
The men took the top two spots as Ilya Kharun finished with a time of 1:39.22 and Jake Mason followed with a time of 1:44.35.
50 Free
Caroline Bentz took first place for the women’s squad, finishing with a time of 22.01.
For the men, Jonny Kulow, Tommy Palmer and Tolu Young took the top three spots with times of 18.90, 18.98 and 19.39 respectively.
100 Free
On the women’s side, Caroline Bentz seized the top spot with a time of 48.69.
The men swept the 100 free with Jonny Kulow taking first place with a time of 41.66. Patrick Sammon and Tommy Palmer finished in second and third with times of 42.39 and 42.47.
200 Back
For the women’s squad, Charli Brown captured third place in the 200 back with a time of 1:57.14.
Jack Wadsworth, Michael Hochwalt and Jono Adam captured the top three positions for the men’s squad. Wadsworth placed in first with a time of 1:42.50, and Hochwalt and Adam followed with times of 1:43.71 and 1:45.73.
200 Breast
The women’s team swept the 200 breast with Emma Gehlert taking first place, followed by Iza Adame and Zoe Summar. Gehlert finished with a time of 2:10.47, and Adame and Summar finished with times of 2:11.59 and 2:12.86.
The men’s team also swept the event with Andy Dobrzanski taking first place with a time of 1:53.36. Lucien Vergnes took second with a time of 1:54.31, followed by Cale Martter who finished with a time of 1:57.03.
500 Free
Alexa Reyna, Deniz Ertan and Grace Lindberg took the top three spots in the women’s 500 free. Reyna finished first with a time of 4:44.54, followed by Ertan and Lindberg with times of 4:46.13 and 4:47.00.
Just like the women, the men’s side swept the 500 free. Daniel Matheson, Jacob Pins and Jake Masonplaced in the top three. Matheson finished first with a time of 4:19.26, followed by Pins and Mason with times of 4:20.11 and 4:24.68.
100 Fly
Julia Ullmann took first place in the women’s 100 fly with a time of 51.91. She was followed by Miriam Sheehan who came in second with a time of 53.53.
Ilya Kharun finished first in the men’s 100 fly with a time of 44.79. He was followed by Filip Senc-Samardzic who took second with a time of 46.17.
200 IM
Sonia Vaishnani, Charli Brown and Jordan Greber swept the women’s 200 IM for ASU. Vaishanani took first place with a time of 1:59.09, followed by Brown and Greber with times of 2:00.55 and 2:01.52.
Michael Hochwalt, Cale Martter and Finn Kemp swept the men’s 200 IM. Hochwalt took first with a time of 1:45.79, followed by Martter and Kemp with times of 1:48.74 and 1:49.98.
200 Free Relay
The team of Caroline Bentz, Miriam Sheehan, Julia Ullmann, and Erin Milligan finished in second in the women’s 200 free with a time of 1:27.75. In third place was the team of Indigo Armon, Iza Adame, Mary Brinker and Elli Straume with a time of 1:31.47.
The men’s side ended the meet by sweeping the podium in the 200 free. Tommy Palmer, Ilya Kharun, Patrick Sammon and Jonny Kulow finished first with a time of 1:14.38. Quin Seider, Tolu Young, Tiago Behar and Leo Roden finished in second with a time of 1:17.44. ASU’s ‘C’ squad finished in third with a time of 1:18.55.
