The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (13-2) took control of its match at Scottsdale Community College (5-6-3) in the first half to earn its third shutout win in four games.
The No. 6 ranked Aztecs scored four goals in the first half and went on to down the Artichokes 5-0. The Aztecs have won five straight.
Sophomore Hugo Kametani scored two goals (16 on the season) and had one assist Sophomore Abraham Espinoza (Saguaro HS) and freshmen Alec Nguyen (Sahuaro HS) and Ben Holthaus also scored goals for the Aztecs.
The Aztecs outshot the Artichokes 10-1 at the goal as freshman Nils Roth had one save. Sophomore David Silva closed out the final 30 minutes and had no saves.
The Aztecs return to Kino North Stadium on Tuesday as they host South Mountain Community College at 4:30 p.m. The Aztecs beat the Cougars 4-0 last month in Phoenix.
