(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College men’s soccer players D’Andre Pickett (Tucson Magnet HS) and Brandon Sanchez (Canyon del Oro HS) earned more national recognition for their play during the 2024 season.
Pickett, a sophomore defender and Sanchez, a sophomore midfielder, both became two-time United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division II Men’s All-Americans
Pickett became a two-time NJCAA Division II First Team All-American when their teams were announced on Dec. 3. He was named ACCAC/Region I, Division II Player of the Year and is a two-time First Team All-ACCAC/Region I player. He was also selected as the top defensive player of the NJCAA Division II National Tournament and scored one goal. He logged in all 305 minutes in the backfield in those three games. Pickett played in 21 games and had three goals, four assists and 10 points. He played 37 games for his career with four goals, eight assists and 16 points.
Pickett became Pima’s first two-time First Team NJCAA All-American since Sam Lossou (Rincon HS) in 2021, 2020-21. He was also a defender.
Sanchez was named Third Team NJCAA Division II All-American. He was a First Team All-ACCAC/Region I, Division II this season to become a two-time All-ACCAC/Region I player for his career. He finished the season with 10 goals, five assists and 25 points in 20 games. He played in 37 games for his career; making 35 starts with 17 goals, nine assists and 43 points.
They helped the Aztecs finish 20-1-1 this season. They amassed an overall record of 33-4-2 over the last two seasons while playing for Pima.
Pickett and Sanchez will be recognized at the annual All-American Ceremony on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the Marriott Marquis, Great Lakes Ballroom in Chicago, Ill. It is part of the United Soccer Coaches Convention from January 8-12, 2025.
