(Kansas City, MO) The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics announced the 2024 NAIA Women’s Cross-Country Championship individual qualifiers on Monday, Nov. 11, naming Park University Gilbert’s very own Maryan Sharif to the pool of over 320 runners.
Sharif, a graduate student from Garland, Texas, is the first runner in Buccaneers Cross-Country history to compete at the NAIA Women’s Cross-Country Championships.
She was one of four athletes representing the Great Southwest Athletic Conference, which took place Friday, Nov. 22 in Columbia, Missouri. Sharif competed in the Women’s 6000m event, finishing with a time of 24:37.4.
Sharif finished her impressive collegiate career at the highest level of competition, serving as a key contributor to the Bucs women’s XC program since 2021, her first season at Park-Gilbert.
