Eager to get the conference season going, the Wildcats got off on the right foot by taking in state rival Arizona State 3-0 and improved their overall record to 12-1 and more importantly 1-0 in Pac-12 play.
This year’s Devil’s squad doesn’t aparear to be a threat in the conference as they failed again to win a Pac-12 match dating back to 2016.

The entire match was dominated by Devyn Cross who time after time blocked ASU’s kill attempts. Cross had eight blocks to lead the Cats.
Offensively, it was the Kendra Dahlke show once again, as the senior outside hitter had fourteen kill shots. Dahlke also had a stellar defensive game with eleven digs to help her team.
Arizona won the opening set 25-18 to set a positive tone to the match and immediately put he pressure on the Sun Devils.
In the second set, the Cats trailed in the late stages 17-16 before finishing with a 9-4 run to win 25-21.
The Devils with their backs against the wall in the third set went down without much of a fight 25-18 to complete getting swept by Arizona.
The Match was played in front of a crowd of 2,685 that made the Cats nervous according to Coach Rubio. He was pleased on the size of the crowd and appreciated the big turnout.
Things get serious in a hurry as the Cats travel to the Bay Area to face the #2 Stanford Cardinal on Sunday.
