(Prescott, AZ)  The Park University Gilbert women’s soccer team (2-9-3, 1-6-3) lost on the road to the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical Prescott University Golden Eagles (9-2-3, 8-1-1), Saturday night at Varsity Field.

The Buccaneers fell 3-0 to the No. 15 ranked program in the NAIA, who currently sit second in the Great Southwest Athletic Conference.

The Bucs’ offense got plenty of shots up, recording 11 with six shots on goal, but wasn’t enough to keep up with the Eagles’ 19 shots and nine shots on goal. Buccaneers goalkeeper, Morgan Trail, recorded four saves.

Embry-Riddle opened the scoring in the 12th minute, off a goal from senior midfielder Rae Yoshioka. Junior midfielder Jamie Black netted the Eagles’ second goal nearly one minute into the second half, and senior midfielder Scarlette Frohardt scored in the 58th minute. Yoshioka assisted on the play.

Both teams recorded seven fouls, but no penalties were recorded to either team.

Buccaneers women’s soccer returns to the pitch Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6:00 p.m. MST, facing another ranked opponent and conference foe, #21 Hope International University (12-1-1, 9-0-1), on the road in Fullerton, California.
