(Pasadena, CA) The Park University Gilbert women’s volleyball team returned to the winning side of the ledger as it completed a home-at-home sweep of Providence Christian College, beating the Sea Beggars in straight sets 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-21). The Bucs move to 4-1 overall on the year. In the overall series, Park-Gilbert now holds a 9-0 all-time series lead on the PCC.
As has been the case in the first five contests, the Bucs shared the wealth in the kill department as redshirt sophomore Leila Lee led the team with nine kills with only one error. She hit .533 for the match. Junior middle Mallory Turner added eight kills and junior opposite Kyla Knight added seven putaways.
Defensively, Chariyah Curry was a wall in the middle with five blocks including two solo stuffs. Graduate Avery Turk added four blocks and Sophomore libero Leilani Pollard add nine digs.
The table setters, Daniella Miranda-Johnson and Makenna Roberts combined for 23 of the Bucs 30 assists.
As a team, Park Gilbert hit .256 with 35 kills and only 12 errors to 31/18/.148 for Providence Christian.
After completing this non-conference road trip win, the Bucs now continue with road play, but in conference. They take on Life Pacific tomorrow evening at 7 p.m. followed by Hope International on Saturday with a 6 p.m. first serve.
