(Phoenix, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (6-1) could not maintain the lead on Saturday in its game at Phoenix College (7-0-1).
The No. 10 ranked Aztecs suffered their first loss of the season in a 2-1 decision at No. 4 Phoenix College.
Sophomore Lizzie Walker (Canyon del Oro HS) put the Aztecs on the scoreboard in the 27th minute with her goal.
The Bears tied the game at 1-1 when Chloe Corral scored in the 33rd minute. The game was tied at halftime.
The Bears gained the advantage for good when Carmen Coronado netted her goal in the 79th minute.
The Aztecs managed just two shots on goal for the game. Freshman Phoebe Knisley (Canyon del Oro HS) finished the game with five saves.
The Aztecs are back in action at the West Campus Aztec Field on Tuesday when they host Scottsdale Community College. Game time is set for 8:00 p.m.
