(Hermosillo, Sonora) For the first time in history, Tucson will host a regular season series of the Liga Arco Mexicana del Pacifico (LAMP) when the Yaquis de Obregón face the Águilas de Mexicali.
The historic event will take place on November 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. It will be the first regular
season series in the history of the LAMP to be played in the United States when the city of
Tucson, Arizona becomes the stage for the series between the Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón
and the Águilas de Mexicali, with the Sonoran team serving as the host at Kino Veterans
Memorial Stadium.
This dream of taking Mexican winter baseball beyond borders has been achieved thanks to
the great effort of the Mexican Baseball Fiesta organization, which for more than a decade
has successfully held preseason games in different parts of Arizona and other states in the
United States and now, for the first time, the excitement of the regular season will be
experienced in Tucson.
The Mexican Baseball Fiesta has worked hand in hand with the Yaquis de Ciudad Obregón
and Águilas de Mexicali to make this historic event in Arizona possible. During the Mexican
Baseball Fiesta in both Phoenix and Tucson, this series will be presented to all Arizona
media to publicize the details of the event. Southern Arizona will receive the best of
Mexican winter baseball!
Tucson will thus make history starting November 1st when, for three days, the city will
receive the best of Mexican winter baseball with the first regular season series outside of
Mexico for the Liga Arco Mexicana del Pacifico.
