(Las Vegas, NV)  With the Arizona Rattlers looking to extend their winning streak against the Vegas Knight Hawks and continue their climb up the standings, and as the saying goes, “What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas,” the Rattlers will leave this performance in Vegas.

The Start

The Arizona Rattlers have been playing with house money all season long and looked to cash in against the Vegas Knight Hawks, and what no better place to do so than with the Las Vegas Strip minutes away from the Lee’s Family Forum? None other than Shannon Brooks gave the Rattlers their first touchdown of the night following the throw from Dalton Sneed and tied the game. Vegas marched down the field on the next drive scoring a touchdown, but Travaris Ferrell blocked the extra-point attempt and returned the turnover for a touchdown. That wouldn’t be the last of Ferrell in the first half, who picked off Ja’Rome Johnson after Brooks ran it into the endzone for a Rattlers 15-13 lead. Arizona couldn’t score after the turnover when Sneed lost the ball in the red zone. But the defense stayed strong and didn’t let the pressure affect their performance. Jarmaine Doubs seemed to take advice from his brother, Romeo Doubs, a top wide receiver for the Green Bay Packers. Jarmaine jumped to catch an interception. This time, Sneed and his team made the most of the turnover. Brooks scored his third touchdown of the first half and extended the Rattlers’ lead. Vegas responded with a touchdown and narrowed the gap to two points. After not converting on 4th and 5, the Knight Hawks would make the Rattlers pay. With the first half’s final seconds ticking down, Johnson juked his way into the endzone, giving the Knight Hawks the lead. The Arizona Rattlers, up by two with less than a minute left, headed into the locker room with a 27-22 deficit.

Slow Half

With a five-point deficit entering the second half, Brooks rushed into the endzone for his fourth touchdown, and the Rattlers took the lead 29-27. The lead lasted less than four minutes when Johnson fired it down the field for a Knight Hawks touchdown. Arizona followed with a strong outing on the next drive. Brooks has looked like Thanos tonight, collecting infinity stones as if they were touchdowns, driving it in for another Rattlers score, and taking the lead back 36-34. The Knight Hawks, not discouraged from relinquishing the lead, scored on the next drive. Sneed threw to a crossing Nih-Jer Jackson found the endzone for a Rattlers 43-41 lead. On third-and-goal, with the pocket falling apart, Johnson dove into the endzone, and the Rattlers needed to pick up the pieces to take the lead back. Everything fell apart for the Rattlers on the next drive. Following a Sneed interception Vegas converted the turnover into a 12-point lead. Arizona’s insurmountable deficit left the Rattlers packing its bags, as the Vegas Knight Hawks ousted the Arizona Rattlers 55-50.
