(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s basketball player Rylei Waugh (Westchester HS, CA) received her sixth selection as ACCAC Division II Player of the Week on Tuesday for the week of Feb. 25-Mar. 2.
Waugh, a freshman guard, averaged 19 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 2.5 steals last week as the Aztecs beat Scottsdale Community College and South Mountain Community College.
She shot 56 percent from the field (15 for 27) and 56 percent from beyond the arc (5 for 9).
Waugh closed out the regular season averaging 16.4 points, 5.8 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 2.3 steals per game as she played and started in all 30 games.
Waugh earned the honors of ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the previous weeks of: Jan. 28-Feb. 3, Jan. 14-20, Dec. 31-Jan. 6, Dec. 10-16 and Nov. 5-11.
The No. 2 seeded Aztecs will play No. 3 Scottsdale Community College on Thursday in the NJCAA Region I, Division II Semifinals match at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
The Pima men’s basketball team will also be the No. 2 seed for the NJCAA Region I, Division II Tournament and will play No. 3 Glendale Community College on Thursday at the West Campus Aztec Gym. Tipoff is at 7:30 p.m.
