(San Francisco, CA) For the fourth time this season, senior opposite Marta Levinska is the Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week after averaging a .425 hitting percentage over two matches with 20-plus kills in both of No. 18 Sun Devil Volleyball’s wins over the weekend.
Not only is four weekly awards in a season a record for a single Sun Devil, but this nod for Levinska gives Arizona State its fifth weekly award of the year, which is the most the program has ever had in a single season.This honor increases Levinska’s total weekly award number up to six, extending her ASU record for career weekly awards. She has more offensive weekly awards than anyone in the Pac-12 this season. For the complete list of winners, head to the Pac-12’s website.
Levinska’s senior campaign continues to be incredibly strong. She is currently on a streak of three-straight matches with 20-plus kills and hitting over .400. This season, she has had 20 or more kills seven times, 15 in her career. She also has hit over .400 11 times this year. Additionally, she is on a streak of 13-straight matches with double-digit kills. This weekend, she reached 100 career aces.
Arizona State won both matches over the weekend, beating Colorado in four sets before sweeping Utah. The win over the Utes completed the season sweep, the first time doing so since 2015, which also saw both wins come in straight sets. The team now has 24 wins, the third-highest win total in program history. Also, the 12 conference wins are the fourth-most in ASU history. With these wins, the Sun Devils stayed perfect at home this season.
This weekend is the final two home matches for Arizona State, hosting No. 6 Oregon on Friday before bringing in Oregon State on Sunday for Senior Day. Both matches will be in Desert Financial Arena.
