Fresh off playing at the Junior Nationals in Oklahoma City, three extremely gifted softball athletes will be making their debut in Phoenix at El Chino Restaurant and Cantina Wednesday July 11th at 7 pm.
Cyan Ramos from Tolleson, AZ is a fierce hitter and her advanced athletic talent give her a clear edge over her peers.
Ramos (left of Coach Elwell) both pitches and plays first base for the E1 Prospects Elwell 14U team out of Tolleson, AZ. She’s played softball for eight years and the three with Coach Josh Elwell.
Cyan is heading into her last year of middle school at Wigwam Creek and excels in math and arts. Her next stop will be at Millennium High and part of the Class of 2023.
Planning on competing in softball and receiving a scholarship after high school, her dream will be to play in a Bruin uniform at UCLA.
Sabrina Erran also out of Tolleson, AZ and a teammate of Cyan Ramos, is multi talented at three different positions. Catching and playing both middle infield positions of shortstop and second base affords Coach Elwell a lot of flexibility on where to play Erran.
At twelve years old, she’s played softball half her life and last season, her first with E1 Prospects Elwell 14U.
She currently attends St. Gregory Middle School in Phoenix, AZ and will be entering the eighth grade. Sabrina is plannng on attending Bourgade Catholic High in the shadow of Grand Canyon University in Central Phoenix.
A multi sport athlete, Erran’s “hobby” is basketball, with literature being her other passion.
Planning on playing college softball, her goal is to obtain an athletic scholarship. She’ll have plenty of time to hone her skills further under the guidance of her club and school coaches.
The third player is from Southern Arizona. Caitlyn Fackrell attends Sahuarita Middle School and will also be in the eighth grade.
Along with playing different positions of pitcher, outfielder and and first base, she also excels in basketball and soccer. Her hobbies include arts & crafts and ballet, tap and hip hop dancing.
Fackrell has been playing softball for seven years and the past three seasons with Coach Cyndi Cubillas.
When Caitlyn was teamed up with older 16U and 18U players, at first she was intimidated, but over the course of time while playing and being coaches, she has settled into her role as the pitcher on the Junior National Team.
Being a left handed pitcher, that position would give her an advantage in the circle. With her perseverance and self driven attitude, the sky is the limit for this young athlete.
