(San Francisco, CA) The Pac-12 Conference announced their 2023 Women’s Golf All-Conference teams and Sun Devil Women’s Golf is well represented.
Arizona State landed four individuals on the Pac-12 All-Conference teams, tied with Oregon and USC for the most selections of any school. The respect for the Maroon & Gold is clear, as this distinction is voted on by the other coaches in the league.
Ashley Menne and Grace Summerhays were two of only 12 golfers named to the First Team in arguably the deepest conference in the country. The program has now had at least one representative on the first team every year since 2005. It is the third consecutive year in which ASU has had two first team selections, a feat they have accomplished five times in the seven years of the award in the Missy Farr-Kaye era.
Paula Schulz-Hanssen and Beth Coulter earned two of only eight spots on the Honorable Mention team, meaning 4 of the 20 possible All-Conference picks were Sun Devils. After landing four on the team last year, ASU has now combined for 13 Pac-12 All-Conference honors over the past three seasons alone. Under Missy Farr-Kaye, 21 Sun Devils have made an All-Conference team, the second most in the conference during that span. This is the 21st time at least four from Arizona State have been honored with the distinction in a single season. A total of 138 Sun Devils have now earned a spot on an All-Conference Team since the award was established back in 1980, when ASU was still in the Western Collegiate Athletic Association.

First Team Pac-12 All-Conference selection, earning All-Conference distinction for the second straight year.
Named Pac-12 Golfer of the Week on March 28, earning the honor after her performance at the PING/ASU Invitational.
Shot 12 rounds of par or better, including four rounds in the 60s.
Recorded three Top-10 finishes.
Tied for first at the Match in the Desert after shooting a 65 (-7) in the lone round of the event.
Put together an impressive effort at the Pac-12 Preview, finishing tied for fourth after opening with a 66 (-7).
Was the highest-finishing Pac-12 golfer at the PING/ASU Invitational (T-4th), leading to her earning Pac-12 Golfer of the Week honors.
Opened the Pac-12 Championship with back-to-back rounds under par, securing a Top-20 result.
Participated in the Augusta National Women’s Amateur for the second consecutive season.
Grace Summerhays, First Team
Taking her game to another level during a sensational sophomore season.
First Team Pac-12 All-Conference selection.
Currently ranked No. 49 in the country by Golfstat and No. 81 by Golfweek.
Responsible for three Top-10 and five Top-20 finishes.
Carded nine rounds of par or better, including two rounds in the 60s.
Earned her second straight Top-10 finish, ending in sixth place at the Silverado Showdown.
Shot a career-low 67 (-5) on the final day of the PING/ASU Invitational to move into the Top-10 (T-9th).
Tied for fourth at the Nexus Collegiate, her best finish at a three-day event. She put together back-to-back rounds under par to cap the tournament.
Opened the Pac-12 Preview with a 68 (-5).
Spent her winter break earning a tie for first at the Patriot All-American Golf Tournament, featuring the top collegiate players from around the country.
Paula Schulz-Hanssen, Honorable Mention
Teaming up with Beth Coulter to form one of the most successful freshman duos in the country.
One of only four freshman to receive All-Conference distinction.
Currently ranked No. 53 in the nation by Golfweek and No. 59 according to Golfstat.
Competed in nine tournaments for the Sun Devils, becoming a mainstay in the lineup.
Earned a spot in the lineup and made her postseason debut at the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship.
Made it back-to-back Top-15 finishes when she ended tied for 15th at the Silverado Showdown.
Delivered consecutive rounds under par to start out the PING/ASU Invitational, eventually finishing in a tie for 11th.
A 70 (-2) in the second round helped her earn a tie for 16th at the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate, which aired nationally on GOLF Channel.
Put together the best performance of her young career at the Nexus Collegiate, finishing tied for fourth.
She opened the Nexus Collegiate with a 71 (-1) to set the tone for a Top-5 finish.
Finished in third place out of 36 golfers at the Match in the Desert after recording a career-low 66 (-6).
Shot a 72 (E) in the second round of the ANNIKA Intercollegiate, only her second-ever collegiate round.
Beth Coulter, Honorable Mention

Currently ranked No. 73 in the country by Golfstat and No. 77 according to Golfweek.
Three rounds in the 60s and seven total rounds under par.
Enjoyed a breakout performance at the Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championship, finishing in second place.
Ended the Pac-12 Championship with back-to-back rounds under par, including a 68 (-4) in the final round to move up the leaderboard.She is the program’s highest finisher since Olivia Mehaffey won the 2019 Pac-12 Championship in a playoff. The program continues an incredible streak dating back to 2001. ASU has now had a Top-5 finisher in 20 of the last 21 Pac-12 Championships and an individual land in the Top-10 at each of the last 21 conference championships.
Coulter is the highest-finishing Sun Devil freshman since Linnea Strom won the 2016 Pac-12 Championship in her first appearance.She matches what 2023 Pac-12 Individual Champion Rose Zhang did last year on her way to the 2022 NCAA Individual Title, finishing second as a freshmen in her postseason debut.
Coulter’s final round of 68 was one of five rounds out of the entire field to be in the 60’s.Finished tied for 11th at the PING/ASU Invitational behind the strength of a 70 (-2) in the second round.
Earned a second-straight Top-15 finish when she tied for 11th at the Match in the Desert after shooting a 70 (-2).Started off the Pac-12 Preview with a 68 (-5), contributing to the lowest team score vs. par over 18 holes in program history.
Finished the Pac-12 Preview tied for 15th thanks to a 72 (-1) in the final round.Wasted no time proving she belonged at the highest level of collegiate golf, shooting a 68 (-4) in her second round as a Sun Devil.

RALEIGH REGIONAL
The eight-time national champion Sun Devil Women’s Golf team will head to Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh, North Carolina after being selected to the Raleigh NCAA Regional, hosted by NC State running May 8-10. This is the 30th consecutive year that Sun Devil Women’s Golf has qualified for a regional, doing so every time since the format was instituted. ASU has not missed a NCAA postseason since 1991. The program earned their 31st straight NCAA postseason berth and will be making its 40th overall appearance.
Arizona State will be the No. 2 seed in a regional that features No. 1 seed Wake Forest. The regional also includes No. 3 seed Florida State, No. 4 Florida, No. 5 Arizona, No. 6 North Texas (C-USA Champion), No. 7 TCU, host school No. 8 NC State, No. 9 Purdue, No. 10 Nebraska, No. 11 Campbell (Big South Champion), and No. 12 Richmond (Patriot League Champion).
