Benson Bobcats came into this game confident but ready. They’ve won their playoff games to this point by large margins. Today’s game was against a quality team from Kingman Academy ranked #3 in 2A.
Bobcats struck early and often opening up the game 3-0 in their half of the first inning. By the third inning the lead increased to 5-0 and ultimately 14-0 after five innings in a run rule victory.
Saturday will put the Morenci Wildcats directly in the path of the semi-finals for Beson. The Lady Wildcats are raked #4 in 2A.
Morenci is 19-10 overall and 9-3 in conference play. Benson counters with 33-1-1 and 12-0 respectively.
This game will be the power and pitching of Benson with 53 home runs and a 1.35 ERA led by ace Katie Sherman. The Cats come in with only 18 homers and 2.68 ERA.
Benson must play their game and not make mental and unforced errors. Coach Yogi Wilson will keep the focus on hitting and defense. Game time is 10 am.
