Tucson, AZ –The Pima Community College Athletics department will recognize all 16 teams at its annual celebration on Tuesday, May. 8 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at the West Campus Center for the Arts Proscenium Theatre (2202 W. Anklam Rd.).
Coaches and representatives from men’s and women’s cross country, football, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, men’s and women’s golf, softball, men’s and women’s tennis and men’s and women’s track & field will talk about their accomplishments during the season.
Men’s soccer player Gabriel Mendoza (Desert View HS), football’s Christian Maddox, track & field athlete Tyra Yanez (Sahuaro HS) and women’s basketball player Jacqulynn Nakai (Coconino HS) were selected as this year’s recipients of the Lawrence R. Toledo Leadership Award. They will also be honored at the celebration.
All coaches, student-athletes, families, friends and community are invited. Refreshments will be available after the program outside of the theatre.
