(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s soccer team (8-1, 5-1 in ACCAC) earned its eighth shutout victory in nine games after beating Chandler-Gilbert Community College (4-6, 1-5) on Saturday at the West Campus Aztec Field.
The No. 3 ranked Aztecs scored both goals in the second half beating the Coyotes 2-0.
After a scoreless first half, freshman Kyleigh Oliver (Salpointe Catholic HS) found the back of the net after a scramble for the ball in the 63rd minute. Sophomore Caitlyn Maher (Catalina Foothills HS) provided the assist inside the box.
Sophomore Nayeli Vidal (Sahuaro HS) added an insurance goal with her shot inside the box with an assist coming from freshman Samantha Michel (Walden Grove HS) in the 71stminute.
Sophomore Angelina Amparano (Salpointe Catholic HS) finished the game with six saves. She has 33 saves on the season.
The Aztecs face a tough road test on Tuesday when they play at No. 10 Scottsdale Community College. The teams are on the pitch at 7:00 p.m.
