Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College women’s golf team competed in its sixth tournament of the season on Saturday and Sunday at the Chandler-Gilbert Invitational.
The Aztecs took third place with a score of 693 (349-343). Mesa Community College was first with 638 (320-318) and Chandler-Gilbert Community College placed second with 656 (324-332).
Sophomore Araceli Esquivel (Salpointe Catholic HS) earned her fifth Top 5 finish of the season as she took fourth place in the individual standings. She shot a four-over par 75 on Sunday and finished with a two-day total of 156 (81-75).
Freshman Julianne Gonzalez (Ironwood Ridge HS) finished in 12th place with a two-day score of 175 (86-89). Freshman Clara Solano (Tucson HS) improved in her second round as she shot a 180 (93-87). Sophomore Juliana Perez (Tucson HS) had a 182 (89-93).
The Aztecs will complete the regular season at the Mesa CC Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, Apr. 23-24 at the Longbow Golf Club in Mesa.
