(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s soccer player Litycia Espinoza (Sahuarita HS) has been named the Chapman Automotive Aztecs Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of January 24-30.
Espinoza, a sophomore midfielder, helped the Aztecs earn a runner-up finish at the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in November. Espinoza maintained a 4.0 GPA during the fall semester. She majored in Radiology Technology and got her Liberal Arts degree in May. She also passed her EMT certification in December.
“She changed positions for us right before the playoffs due to a teammate’s injury and kept a positive attitude and excelled through the playoffs,” coach Kendra Veliz said.
Espinoza volunteered at the Fort Lowell Shootout in January where she helped keep score of the PK shootouts among the competitors.
She is working part-time as a Radiology Technician’s assistant at TMC. During the soccer season, she worked at Hallmark in Green Valley.
