(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s basketball team (7-2, 3-1 in ACCAC) put together a balanced attack and another strong second half on Wednesday to beat Glendale Community College (2-7, 1-3).
The No. 8 ranked Aztecs defeated the Gauchos 74-57 in Glendale. Up 32-28 at halftime, the Aztecs went on to outscore Glendale 42-29 in the second half.
Freshman Angel Addleman (Palo Verde HS) led the Aztecs with a team-high 18 points to go along with nine rebounds and three steals.
Freshman Torrance Begay (Page HS) went 5 for 5 from the field and finished with 14 points, nine rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Sophomore Nikya Orange (Tanque Verde HS) finished the game with 11 points after going 5 for 6 from the floor as she also grabbed nine rebounds.
Freshman Luisayde Chavez (Rio Rico HS) added 11 points as well as six rebounds, eight assists, two steals and two blocks.
The Aztecs will close out the week with another road test as they play at Chandler-Gilbert Community College on Saturday. Tipoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
