(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College women’s basketball player Nikya Orange (Tanque Verde HS) was unstoppable in Pima’s game at Phoenix College and her efforts gained recognition from the ACCAC Conference.
Orange, a sophomore forward, was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week for the week of Nov. 22-28.
Orange finished with 19 points after going 9 for 13 from the floor and secured a double-double with 16 rebounds. She also had two blocked shots as the Aztecs beat the Bears 71-51 on Nov. 23.
She is averaging 9.6 points and 9.4 rebounds in eight games played this season.
The Aztecs are back on the road on Wednesday when they play at Glendale Community College. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
