Moody and Kitt each net 22 as Aztecs men’s basketball drops 135 points to beat Skyline Prep

(Tucson, AZ)  The Pima Community College men’s basketball team scored 130 points for the second straight game as it dominated Skyline Prep on Saturday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium.

The No. 15 ranked Aztecs beat Skyline Prep 135-68 to move to 3-0 on the season.

The Aztecs led 73-33 at halftime and outscored Skyline 62-35 in the second half.

Sophomore Daniel Moody (Walden Grove HS) scored 22 points after he went 9 for 12 from the field. Freshman Itury Kitt (Eastpointe HS) also dropped 22 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists.

Freshman Cooper Burbank (Chinle HS) scored 19 points for the second straight game as he went 5 for 10 from three-point range and also had eight rebounds.

Three players secured double-doubles in points and rebounds. Freshmen Jalen Johnson finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds while fellow freshman Traivar Jackson added 14 points and 14 rebounds. Sophomore Quincey Trammell went 6 for 8 from the field and posted 12 points and 13 rebounds.

Freshman Pierce Sterling had double digits in assists for the third straight game as he had five points, six rebounds and 10 assists.

The Aztecs continue non-conference play as they host Ottawa University JV on Wednesday at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium. Tipoff is at 6:00 p.m.
