(Tucson, AZ) The Indoor Football League announced on Wednesday afternoon that Tucson Sugar Skulls quarterback Demry Croft was awarded Week 6 Offensive Player of the Week honors for his efforts in Tucson’s 55-35 win over the Duke City Gladiators.
The Offensive Player of the Week award is the first of Croft’s career, coming in just his second IFL game. Croft is also the first member of the Sugar Skulls to earn Player of the Week honors in 2021.
In a head-to-head matchup against the previous Offensive Player of the Week in Nate Davis, Croft completed 13 passes for 103 yards with a 59.1 completion percentage, resulting in five touchdowns through the air. The dual-threat quarterback got it done on the ground as well, leading the team in rushing yards with 67 yards and adding on a rushing touchdown.
Croft leads the Sugar Skulls in several offensive categories to start his IFL rookie season.
