(Tucson, AZ) Pima Community College men’s golfer Connor Wierman (Ironwood Ridge HS) closed out play at the NJCAA Division I National Championship on Thursday.
Wierman finished tied for 43rd place with a four-day total of 302. He shot a 4-over par 76 in his final round (74-73-79-76).
Coach’s Quote: “At the end of the day, we were not able to finish the job. We had two solid rounds that put us in a good position; however, with that third day score, that set us back,” Pima men’s golf coach Marcus Smith said. “Either way, Connor being able to compete in the national championship is good for the program and himself as an individual. I’m happy he got the opportunity.”
Wierman took third place at the NJCAA Region I, Division I Championships and earned All-Region honors. He averaged a score of 74.6 per round this season. His best round was a 72 at the Scottsdale Invitational on March 1.
