Day three of the Wildcat Invitational pitted the Lady Cats against the Lady Badgers in a rematch of their one run victory earlier in the tournament.
With Sophomore Alyssa Denham in the circle for Arizona, Wisconsin would strike first with two runs on four hits in the first inning.
The Wildcats would tie it up their half of the first inning with two runs off a Deja Mulipola single.
In the bottom of the third inning, Arizona had runners on the corners, Malia Martinez doubled scoring both Craighton and Mulipola. The Cats weren’t finished as they tacked on another run off a Hillary Edior double. She scored moments later off a Carli Campbell single increasing Arizona’s lead 6-2.
Jesse Harper doubled home Alyssa Palomino in the fifth inning and Muliopla would slug a homer to score Palomino and herself as the Cats continued to roll 9-2.
The Badgers scored a lone run in the top of the seventh, but would not score again as Harper would seal the victory with diving catch in the hole at shortstop.
