(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College women’s golf team opened the 2021 season on Monday and Tuesday competing at the Mesa Invitational held at the Dobson Ranch Golf Course.
Freshman Victoria Pena (Tucson Magnet HS) finished in eighth place in the individual standings. She improved by 7-strokes in the second round as she closed out the tournament with a two-day total of 189 (98-91).
Coach’s Quote: “First tournament jitters but she definitely made the adjustments in her mental game and simplified her game,” Pima golf coach Marcus Smith said.
The Aztecs will compete in the South Mountain Invitational on February 27th and 28th at the Aguilar Golf Course in Laveen, AZ.
