Tucson, AZ – The Pima Community College baseball team (10-8, 2-6 in ACCAC) dropped a pair of games on Tuesday at Phoenix College (11-4, 5-2).
The Aztecs got shut out in the first game but took a lead in the second game only to see it fade in the later innings.
Game 1: Phoenix College Bears 7, Pima CC Aztecs 0 (7 innings): Freshman Michael Wong provided the only two hits for the Aztecs in the first game as he finished 2 for 3.
Freshman Adam Moraga (Sunnyside HS) suffered his first loss of the season (2-1) as he threw four innings giving up four runs (three earned) on two hits with five strikeouts and four walks.

Game 2: Phoenix College Bears 12, Pima CC Aztecs 5: The Aztecs scored four runs in the 5th inning to take a 5-0 lead. The Bears rallied to score eight runs in the 7th inning and four runs in the 8th.
Freshman Rafael Padilla (Nogales HS) put the Aztecs on the board in the 3rd inning with an RBI single to score freshman Enrique Porchas (Kofa HS).
The Aztecs added to their lead in the 5th inning when pinch runner Elisandro Diaz (Salpointe Catholic HS) scored on a passed ball and sophomore Marcus Mendez (Desert View HS) hit a three-run RBI double to plate Porchas, Padilla and sophomore Logan Klunder. The Aztecs managed one hit after the 5th inning.
Freshman Thomas Garcia (Salpointe Catholic HS) took the loss (1-1) in a relief appearance. Freshman Ryon Craig (Cienega HS) threw six shutout innings. He went six and one-third innings giving up two runs (two earned) on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks.

The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Baseball Field on Saturday when they host Paradise Valley Community College in an ACCAC conference doubleheader. The first pitch will be at noon.
