(Hutchinson, KS) The Pima Community College women’s track & field team completed the second day of competition at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships on Friday in The No. 8 ranked Aztecs scored 18 points on the day and moved up eight spots in the team standings to sixth place with a total of 24 points after two days of competition.
The trio of sophomores Izzy Green (McClintock HS), April Necaise and Ja’Niya Ross (Desert Vista HS) scored 15 team points and all earned All-American status in the High Jump. Green took second place and set a new-Pima career high after she cleared 1.71 meters (5-feet, 7.25-inches) on her second attempt. She earned eight team points for the Aztecs.
Necaise placed fifth in the High Jump with a mark of 1.62 meters (5-4.25) on her first attempt. She gained four points for Pima. Ross finished in sixth place after she also cleared 1.63 meters (5-4.25) on her third attempt. She picked up three team points.
Freshman Hannah Droeg (Casteel HS) took home All-American honors after her sixth-place finish in the Heptathlon with a total of 4,103 points. She earned another three points for the Aztecs.
Other Pima finishes in day two of the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships:
Layla Konski (Ironwood Ridge HS) – 13th place in Heptathlon 3,436 points.
The Aztecs will close out the 2025 Track & Field season on Saturday in the final day of competition at the NJCAA Division I Outdoor National Championships. Events begin at 10:00 a.m. (CT); 8:00 a.m. Tucson time.
