(Irving, TX) On Tuesday, the Big 12 Conference announced lacrosse weekly awards, and for the fourth time this season, Sun Devil Lacrosse’s Anna Viglione was named the Big 12 Midfielder of the Week after setting the program’s single-season draw control record in the win over UC Davis.
Against the Aggies, Viglione secured her fifth-straight game with double-digit draw controls, tallying 13, which also marked the 11th time this season she’s reached double-digit
She set the program’s single-season draw record with 171, breaking current assistant coach Zoe Mazur’srecord of 167 set just last season. Viglione also leads the NCAA in draw controls and has ASU recording the second most draw controls per game this season, averaging over 18 in each contest.
In total, ASU has picked up 10 weekly Big 12 honors this season. Viglione’s four leads the team. The 10 honors ties the most conference weekly awards in a single season in program history.
