(San Diego, CA) The Pima Community College women’s track & field team competed at the Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday at the University of California San Diego in La Jolla, CA.
The No. 2 ranked Aztecs produced two more NJCAA national qualifying times bringing their total to 11 this Outdoor Season.
Sophomore Reatta Danhof (Ironwood Ridge HS) set a national qualifying time and a new personal-best in the 800 meters as she finished with a time of 2:18.66. She is now third in Pima Outdoor Season school history. She claimed the school record for the 800 meters during the Indoor Season at 2:21.32.
Danhof improved her national qualifying time in the 1,500 meters and moved to No. 8 in the Pima Outdoor all-time list as she finished with a time of 4:50.78. Her previous qualifier was marked at 4:54.69.
Freshman Tyra Christean set her NJCAA national qualifying time in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:04.94. She cracked the top 10 at No. 9 in Pima Outdoor school history.
The Aztecs will compete in the GCC Outdoor Invitational on Saturday at Glendale Community College.
