(Glendale, AZ) The Pima Community College softball team (39-5, 27-5 in ACCAC) picked up two ACCAC conference doubleheader wins on the road on Tuesday at Glendale Community College (18-18, 15-17).
Sophomore Aubrey Marx (Cienega HS) finished the day 4 for 6 with four RBIs and a run scored while fellow sophomore Alyssa Noriega (Pueblo HS) closed out her day going 5 for 8 with four RBIs and two runs. Freshman Julissa Lopez (Tucson Magnet HS) went 5 for 6 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Sophomore Talia Martin (Mountain View HS) finished 3 for 8 with an RBI and five runs. Freshman Jiselle Nunez (Tucson Magnet HS) was 4 for 8 with three RBIs and two runs. Freshman Arianna Flores (Salpointe Catholic HS) and sophomore Jessica Thompson (Tanque Verde HS) got the wins in the circle.

Game 1: (9) Pima Aztecs 10, Glendale Gauchos 0 (5 innings)
The Aztecs got on the board with four runs in the 2nd inning as freshman Clarissa Figueroa (Mountain View HS) and Martin hit back-to-back RBI singles. Marx followed with a two-run RBI single to score them as Pima took a 4-0 lead.
Sophomore Cheyanne Ortiz (Tucson Magnet HS) drove in two runs with her RBI single bringing around sophomore Amber Conner (Tanque Verde HS) and Lopez. Freshman Amerika Lopez-Bedoy (Sunnyside HS) capped off the three-run inning with her RBI single to make it 7-0.
Sophomore Natalya Rivera (Sunnyside HS) brought in sophomore Uriah Burrell (Catalina Foothills HS) with an RBI double in the 4th inning and Lopez hit a sacrifice-fly RBI to score Noriega to put the Aztecs up 9-0.
Marx finished the game 3 for 3 with two RBIs while Ortiz went 2 for 3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Lopez was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run. Martin closed out the game going 1 for 4 with an RBI and two runs and Nunez was 1 for 4 with an RBI single in the 5th inning. Figueroa went 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run.
Flores picked up the win after pitching all five innings, giving up one hit with seven strikeouts and two walks on 79 pitches.

Game 2: (9) Pima Aztecs 15, Glendale Gauchos 6 (6 innings)
The Aztecs fell behind in the 1stinning but rallied with seven runs in the 2nd inning and six runs in the 6th inning to earn their second run rule victory of the day.
Lopez and Ortiz hit two straight singles to start off the 2nd inning. With one out, freshman Taiya Teixeira (Salpointe Catholic HS) hit a single to drive in Lopez to put Pima on the scoreboard. With two outs, Marx doubled to center field to bring in Teixeira and Martin to put the Aztecs ahead 3-2. Nunez followed with an RBI single to plate Marx, and Noriega drove a ball deep to center field for the two-run home run to make it 6-2. Lopez capped the inning with an RBI single to score Rivera.
Nunez and Noriega produced back-to-back RBI hits in the 3rd inning as Pima went up 9-2.
Teixeira got it going for the Aztecs again in the 6th inning as she hit an RBI single to score Figueroa. After two straight walks to load the bases with two outs, freshman Belen Camacho (Pueblo HS) cleared the bases with a three-run RBI double scoring Teixeira, Martin and sophomore Nevaeh Bracamonte to make it 14-4. Camacho scored when Noriega hit an RBI double to cap off the six-run inning.
Noriega finished the game 4 for 5 with four RBIs and a run scored while Martin went 2 for 4 with three runs. Lopez was 3 for 3 with an RBI and two runs and Teixeira closed it going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs. Nunez was 3 for 4 with two RBIs and two runs. Camacho went 1 for 1 with three RBIs and a run while Marx finished 1 for 3 with two RBIs and a run.
Thompson picked up her 10th win of the season as she pitched all six innings, giving up six runs (six earned) on 10 hits with five strikeouts and five walks.
The Aztecs will return to the West Campus Aztec Softball Field on Saturday when they host Paradise Valley Community College in an ACCAC conference doubleheader. First game starts at noon.
