(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College Women’s Basketball program was represented once again as the NJCAA released its All-American teams on Wednesday via their Twitter/X page.
Freshman post player Kiley Sours-Miller was named First Team NJCAA Division II All-American. She is the 20th NJCAA All-American in program history and 19th under coach Todd Holthaus.
Sours-Miller is the second straight freshman to earn first-team honors as well as be named ACCAC Player and Freshman of the Year, First Team All-ACCAC, All-Region I, Division and All-NJCAA Division II Tournament recognition. Rylei Waugh earned the distinctions last season.
Sours-Miller played in 34 games; making 30 starts in the frontcourt as she averaged 18.2 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game. She shot 59.9 percent from the field. She finished the season with 17 double-doubles in points and rebounds and was named ACCAC Division II Player of the Week seven times.
She totaled 618 points and 363 rebounds. She scored in double figures in 33 of the 34 games and produced double figures in rebounding in 17 games. Sours-Miller scored a career-high of 34 points on two occasions and had a career-high of 18 rebounds.
She helped the Aztecs advance to their first NJCAA Division II National Championship game since 2011. Sours-Miller averaged 19.0 points and 10.0 rebounds during the four games at the tournament.
Sours-Miller joins fellow women’s basketball NJCAA All-Americans: Latrina Bennett (1994), Jessie Ingraham (2008), Tia Morrison (2009, 2010), Abyee Maracigan (2009, 2010), Deanna Daniels (2011), A’jha Edwards (2013), Raja Moreno-Ross (2014), Sydni Stallworth (2016, 2017), Jacqulynn Nakai (2018, 2019), Shauna Bribiescas (2019), Hallie Lawson (2020), Sierra Mich’l (2021), Fama Thiam (2021) and Luisayde Chavez (2023) and Rylei Waugh (2024).
In 18 seasons at the helm, women’s basketball coach Todd Holthaus has produced an NJCAA All-American in 15 of those seasons. The Aztecs have an NJCAA All-American in eight of the last nine years.
The Aztecs finished with a 29-6 overall record. It is the most wins for the program since the 2010-11 season. They surpassed 20 wins in a season for the ninth straight year (excluding the 2020-21 covid season) and 10 of the last 11 seasons. Pima was 14-2 at the West Campus Aztec Gymnasium this season.
