Cruzan Finishes in 3rd at GSAC Championships

(Prescott, AZ)  Park University Gilbert golfer Eli Cruzan shot a five-under 67 to finish in third place in the Great Southwest Conference Championships at Antelope Hills North Golf Course. Overall, the team shot a seven-over 295 and fell to sixth place in the team championships.

Cruzan finishes in third place individually in the conference championships for the second year in a row. The Bucs have had two players (3 times) finish in third place which is the best finish in the conference tournament in school history. The other player was Ludvig Nielson in 2023. Park has had a top-5 finisher in the conference tournament in every season in its history.

Sophomore Jax Sisson shot a two-under 70 to move up three spots into eighth place. This was his second top-10 finish this spring after a third place finish at the Sea Beggars Invitational.

Riley Wortman who was in the hunt for medalist honors after two rounds struggled in the final round shooting an 80 and dropped to 20th place. Wortman had a great spring season  winning one tournament and posting two other top-10 finishes (3rd and 7th).

Freshman Isaiah Halcomb shot a aux-over 78 to close out his first conference championship. Halcomb had one top-10 finish this spring at the Park Gilbert Shootout.

The Bucs had 18 birdies on the day, their best day of the tournament, but shot their highest score of the week.

All-Conference teams will be announced by the GSAC tomorrow, Thursday, April 17.
