(Mesa, AZ)  The Park University Gilbert beach volleyball team dropped its final game against the Ottawa University Arizona Spirit by a score of 4-1, Tuesday morning at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.

The Buccaneers finished the year with a 1-13 overall record and a 1-11 record in Great Southwest Athletic Conference play. OUAZ moves to 11-3 overall and 11-0 in conference play.

Park-Gilbert’s lone victory came in a three-set thriller from the No. 3 flight, as Porsche Bauer and Anna DeMario took down OUAZ’s Julianne Hemphill and Eliana Dean.

Despite the match loss, today was about commemorating three seniors and their contributions to Buccaneers beach volleyball: Jessica Goldsmith (#2), Taylor Van Winkle (#5), and graduate assistant Maddie Gomes.

Goldsmith and Van Winkle served as the 1s pair for the 2025 season, earning three wins on the year against Wayne State College (2x) and Life Pacific University. Gomes, a Park-Gilbert women’s soccer alum graduating in May with her master’s in business administration, has supported the women’s volleyball program in a variety of roles, including athletic game operations and social media management.
