(Tucson, AZ) The Pima Community College softball team (35-5) got back in the win column on Tuesday as it hosted a non-conference doubleheader against Central Arizona College (7-21) at the West Campus Aztec Softball Field.
The No. 11 ranked Aztecs earned two run rule victories. Freshman Amerika Lopez-Bedoy (Sunnyside HS) closed out the day going 6 for 8 with eight RBIs. Freshman Julissa Lopez (Tucson Magnet HS) finished 4 for 5 with an RBI and four runs scored while sophomore Aubrey Marx (Cienega HS) went 4 for 7 with two RBIs and a run. Sophomore Natalya Rivera (Sunnyside HS) was 3 for 6 with three RBIs and four runs. Freshmen Arianna Flores (Salpointe Catholic HS) and Belen Camacho (Pueblo HS) picked up the wins in the circle.
Game 1: (11) Pima Aztecs 10, Central Arizona College Vaqueras 2 (6 innings)
The Aztecs rallied with nine unanswered runs to win the first game.
Down 2-1 in the bottom of the 4th inning, Lopez-Bedoy tied the game at 2-2 with an RBI single to score Lopez, who drew a walk and advanced to third base on a wild pitch. Sophomore Talia Martin (Mountain View HS) hit a sacrifice-fly RBI to score pinch runner Amber Conner (Tanque Verde HS) and Marx followed with an RBI single to plate sophomore Cheyanne Ortiz (Tucson Magnet HS) as Pima took a 4-2 lead.
The Aztecs tacked on three more runs in the 5th inning as Lopez-Bedoy came through again on another RBI single bringing in pinch runner Uriah Burrell (Catalina Foothills HS). Rivera and Lopez scored on fielder’s choice plays as the Aztecs went up 7-2.
The Aztecs closed it out in the 6th inning when Lopez hit an RBI single to plate pinch runner Taiya Teixeira (Salpointe Catholic HS) and Lopez-Bedoy followed with a walk-off two-run RBI double scoring sophomore Alyssa Noriega (Pueblo HS) and Rivera.
Lopez-Bedoy was a flawless 4 for 4 with four RBIs. Martin drew a bases loaded walk in the 2nd inning and went 1 for 2 with two RBIs. Lopez was 2 for 3 with an RBI and three runs scored. Rivera closed out the game going 1 for 4 with two runs and Marx went 2 for 4 with an RBI.
Flores picked up the win as she pitched four innings, giving up two runs (two earned) on four hits with three strikeouts and four walks on 76 pitches.

Game 2: (11) Pima Aztecs 10, Central Arizona College Vaqueras 2 (6 innings)
The Aztecs got off to a fast start with eight runs in the first three innings to take control and earn their second run rule win of the day.
Rivera put the Aztecs on the scoreboard with a three-run home run in the 1st inning, driving in Martin and Marx to make it 3-0.
Marx added to the lead in the 2nd inning with an RBI double to score Martin.
The Aztecs tacked on another four runs in the 3rd inning frame. Lopez-Bedoy picked up where she left off with another two-run RBI double bringing in Rivera and Lopez to make it 6-0.
Lopez-Bedoy hit her second walk-off of the day as she drove a two-run RBI single to center field, scoring pinch runner Sariah Ferrentino (Sabino HS) and sophomore Nevaeh Bracamonte.
Lopez-Bedoy went 2 for 4 with four RBIs while Rivera finished 2 for 2 with three RBIs and two runs. Lopez was also 2 for 2 with a run scored. Marx finished 2 for 3 with an RBI and run while Martin went 1 for 4 with two runs.
Camacho did her work on both sides of the diamond as she hit a two-run home run in the 3rd inning and finished 1 for 3 with two RBIs and a run, while picking up the win in the circle. She pitched all six innings, giving up two runs (none earned) on six hits with three strikeouts and three walks on 100 pitches.

The Aztecs will get back to ACCAC conference play on Saturday when they head to Mesa Community College for a doubleheader. First game starts at 12:00 p.m.
