(Tucson, AZ) Starting off the weekend strong, No. 11 Sun Devil Beach Volleyball picked up wins over Boise State (3-2) and No. 20 Stetson (4-1) on Friday at Bear Down Beach as part of the Cactus Classic.
Arizona State improved to 3-5 on the year after beating Boise State (0-1) and Stetson (4-2).
Under second-year head coach Kristen Glattfelder, Arizona State has yet to lose a dual to an unranked team. The win over Stetson was also Glattfelder’s 13th ranked win while at ASU. She now has the most ranked wins by a head coach for this program. It is the second ranked victory for the Sand Devils this year.
Two pairs went undefeated today. The No. 1 duo of junior Daniella Kensinger and sophomore Ava Williamson swept both of their matches today, improving to 3-5 on the year. On court three, junior Tori Clement and redshirt junior Ava Kirunchyk won their two matches, sweeping against the Broncos and winning in three against the Hatters.
Game One: No. 11 ASU 3, Boise State 2
Arizona State beat Boise State on courts one, three and four to win the dual. Arden Besecker and Ava Haughy improved to 4-1 at the No. 4 spot this season. The Broncos won on the other two courts. Despite the close battles across all courts, each match just took two sets. Both sets went to extra points on court five.

Game Two: No. 11 ASU 4, No. 20 Stetson 1
For the second win of the day, Arizona State got its second ranked win of the year by beating Stetson on all courts except the No. 4 spot. This was the second win all-time over the Hatters in three tries. The clinch came on court three with a three-set victory by Ava Kirunchyk and Tori Clement. Clement spent her first two seasons at Stetson.
